"How was your day?" Callie sat on a bank in front of the hospital.
"Great! Wait a secound, you waited for me?", I asked.
"Uhm, yeah. Didn't know what to do. I cleaned up the appartment and took a long hot shower. And when I stepped out of the bathroom it looked all messy again because Yank came back. So, you did great today?"
"Yes! I avoided Robbins and saved four lifes instead. One of them had a nail in his chest. He nearly died."
"Feels good, huh?"
"Definitely." I smiled at her. She looked amazing and shined through the drizzle.
She smiled back at me and stood up. "What's up for tomorrow?"
"Big brain surgery, the biggest tumor I've ever seen. Death's trying to put me on severice too."
"I thought you didn't want to make use of your friendship?"
"I don't want to, but everybody hates me, except of Derek and Death."
"That's so not true!", she protested. "I am your girlfriend, I don't hate you."
"Girlfriend? Did you...you...you just say girlfriend?", I stuttered.
"We have sex everyday, you stay over every night and there are plenty of feelings and something magical is going on, so, yeah, I call it girlfriend. No, no, scratch that, I call you my girlfriend."
"Wow." I could say more.
"Oh, you don't feel this way."
"Well, I don't know. Well...yeah, maybe you're right."
"Great. Any other answer would have been wrong and embarrassing- for the both of us."
Istood right in front of her, got up on my tiptoes and kissed her. Somehow I didn't care about all the Izzis and Reeds of the world. Maybe because of the word girlfriend. I hold her close to me while we were kissing.
"We better go now."

„Morning Death, what’s up?“
„Sht. I’m eavesdropping.“
„What?“
„ Sloan and Callie. They are talking about you.“
I was all about to leave…but curiosity won. “About work? What does she say?”
“No. She said, she likes you.”
“I already know that.” Still I pulled her away so I could listen.

“She is an intern”, Sloan said.
“Lexie’s too.”
“But Lexie is much more grown up. She…”
Callie interrupted: “She is little Grey.”
“And your intern is Greys best friend. They call each other Death and Sad”
“She is not my intern. She is my friend. My girlfriend.”

“What? She calles you girlfriend?”, Death asked.
“Yes…”, I admitted.
“Since when?”
“Since last night.”
“You didn’t tell me.”
“I didn’t see you.”
“Big step?”
“Not at all.”
Death stared at me. “She’s your first.”
“Not at all.”
“Sad??”
“Sht, I wanna hear what she’s saying.”

“By the way, Lexie stood in front of you, begging you to teach her. And you thought teaching meant having sex.”
“She said ‘teach me’ and took off her clothes. It was obvious.”
“Well, Sadie kissed me.”

“She is as old as little Grey.”

I wondered if she consciously said little Grey.

“But Callie. You were always all going for men. George. Karev. Me.”

“She slept with Karev?”
“Don’t ask me. I am not her girlfriend. I am not even her friend”, Death answered.

“Erica”, Callie replied.
“She was a woman. Dr. Harris is a girl.”
“There is no difference between Erica and Sadie, physically.”
“That’s the point. Erica was hot. I understood that, totally. But a second time? Is this going to be a new you?”
“Now I see. That is what you are afraid of. If you ever break with Lexie, I won’t be there to satisfy you. Well Mark, that is very childish!”
“I didn’t say that.
“By the way. It must be kind of a charima, because there was another woman lining up for me. But I chose Dr. Harris, because I love her.”

“Wow…Love…I wasn’t prepared to hear that word. She said girlfriend yesterday, but love is so much more, deeper. I stopped breathing and in the same time my blood pumped faster through my veins. Death could possibly hear the beat.

“Come on Torres, you can’t be serious. Love is such a big word.”
“Mark, I don’t get it. I was single and you said ‘go out, have some fun, find someone.” It was funny. Her voice switched into a male sound. “I went out, I had fun – you should know – and know I found someone.”
“I thought about someone more masculine. Someone, who protects you.”
“I don’t need to be protected. I am standing on my own two feet. And you are still there. You are not losing me, because I have a girlfriend right now. I am still your best friend. And maybe you should tell Derek about your relationship. That would be adult. If you don’t do that, don’t talk to me about mine. Got it?”
“Got it…”, he mumbled.
Callie turned around.
Death pulled me away before I even recognized she would see us standing just around the corner.

"Hey", she whispered and gently stroke my cheek, I woke up though.
"Hey", I answered. I must have been fallen asleep while I waited for her to come home. "I am sorry. I was so tired. I had a ten hours surgery- or at least I stood at the back."
"It's okay. I had a hard day too."
"What time is it?"
"Three in the morning", she answered and took off her coat.
"Could you rebuild his hand?" As I left the hospital- I had a 24-hours shift already- Callie was on her way to the OR and texted me, she'd come home later.
"Not at all rebuild it, but I put some plates in it. And he will be able to use two fingers and his thumb." She threw off her shoes.
"Wow. You're a genius."
"I am a superstar", she replied, and took off her jeans.
I took a deep breath. Her legs were to hot.
"What? Something wrong?"
"Why?"
"You're staring at me."
"Sorry."
She took off her shirt and stood in front of me with nothing on but lingerie. This view made me lose control every time. But I was to tired to notice.
"Do you know what I thought about after my surgery?"
"No."
"I thought about you, being in my bed, waiting for me. Naked, of course. I thought about what it feels like to kiss you to unconsciousness. And then Sloan stepped in and I flushed."
"You didn't!"
"I did. I grabbed my stuff, left and went straight home. And here I am. With you. In my bed. Not naked, not yet. But we could change that."
"But I am tired. Maybe I need to be persuaded."
"I can handle it."

"Wow", she said. She was next to me. Breathless. Her chest went up and down. I could hear her heart pounding.
"That's a word", I replied and grabbed for my pager. I am supposed to be on call in two hours. My head keeps reminding me, I need to take a rest. But my body was overwhelmed and screaming for more. "We're getting better", I said smiling.
"Because we are hot and badass", she answered and smiled back at me.
I reached for her hand so that we could cross our fingers. Just because I wanted more, didn't mean she wanted too. "I would not mind if we do it again...", I whispered.
She looked at me.
"I know exactly what's on your mind now, but I was just telling my thought."
She lay down on me. Her fingers slid down my body. Her heart pumped hard against my chest- it felt so good.
"You really think you can stand one more time?"
I bit my lip and moaned as I felt her hand between my legs. I nodded. Hardly, but I did.
"Thank god", she said and kissed my belly button.
I wanted to touch her too, but she held my hands. I couldn't move. I was exposed to her tongue.

"I have to go", I said. I spent the last ten minutes counting curls in her hair.
"You should already be there", she said.
"No, I was on call. Nobody pages an intern. That's good. Everybody pages an attending. But now, I have to work."
"Okay. We'll have a sugery today."
"You should get some sleep before. You can't operate."
"It's in the evenning."
"Fine. You'll take a rest now and I save some lifes. We'll see each other at work."
