It seems very unusual, from the storylines I've seen, that they used an older song like this (in the Canna storyline I mean). It fit the scene so well that maybe they just went with it.

As far as the dream, , I'm gonna go back and review the scene and will let you know the context in which the song was used.

Kim, the song was actually played in a scene not relevant to the Nina/Erika storyline.
It involved a man dropping a little baggie of drugs that Nina found in No Limits.
The line about dreams was played as she picked up the bag.

Since they were characters of a daily soap show there wasn't a chance that these two could stay together forever because that's not how soaps work. If you are a soap character in love you have three options: 1. you are betrayed by your partner or you betray her/him sooner or later and your love dies an inglorious death. 2. you leave the show with your partner. 3. you die and make your love immortal. The first thing happened to Suca, the second to Starla, and the third to Canna.

(Nonetheless, in my mind Carla and Hanna are still together because that's how it was meant to be and everything is possible in daily soaps. But that's just me .)

kim, i hope if there one day be a new story with two women, they fell in love in forbidden love, the broke all this rules (esp rule 1 and 3), and they tell a storyline of two lesbian women from the start, over a longer period than nine months.

in earnest. i like canna so much, but i am happy that the history of carla von lahnstein, after the tragic death of hanna, was continued. the most stories, i know, ended with death, or both leave the series, after coming out. (in a relatively short period)here we have shown, that you can tell much more.i am grateful for it.certainly, each one has in this story, the own priorities, and is it totaly ok, otherwise it would be a boring discussion but for me hanna, susanne, stella and oll the others are parts of the history of carla(in a period over six years), and i like this.
