LOL, love your interpretation. All in all, the interview sounds pretty positive. Like, why would they even bother interviewing them together if nothing more's to come out of their relationship? And why bother re-casting Rebecca for this storyline in the first place only for Marlene to end up with Tristan?

Well I could see some situations like if they ran out of stories for Trima, wanted to keep them and needed something to create problems for them while it simultaneously being some sort of learning experience for Rebecca while he real love interest is scheduled to arrive after this story.

HOWEVER if this was the case, imo we would be seeing tons and tons of sappy Trima screentime, not sappy angsty Marbecca screentime. Hence I think we can rest somewhat assured that that isn't the case here.

Maybe good news for the fans? I hope. Why do Interviews with these ladies if its not progressing? Just a thought.

Also, I think if the whole purpose of the storyline was for Marlene to end up with Tristan in the end then they would've portrayed the storyline as more of a love triangle (why wasn't Tristan included in the interview?) Like, did you ever watch the Texas/Jodie/Dodger storyline in Hollyoaks? Long story sort, Texas ended up with Dodger. The only way this could've happened was because Hollyoaks portrayed the storyline as a love triangle from day one. All interviews about the storyline always included all three members. I just remember them using the word triangle a lot. Whereas, Marlene/Rebecca/Tristan have hardly ever been portrayed as a love triangle, it's always ever been about Marlene/Rebecca.

And it's especially poignant for VL I think because they would have motivation to portray it as a triangle even if they were planning on Marbecca to end up together from the start. => because the show is called Forbidden Love, so usually their advertising tries to stress the forbidden angle. Just loving a woman isn't forbidden, but a brother and a sister fighting for the same person is. For example, when Marlene joined the show even a blind person who watched just a single episode could tell that Hagen/Dana were the romance couple and Hagen/Marlene was just the diversion/obstacle. But they still shot and spread plenty of triangle pictures to stress the whole "a man between two sisters" angle.

Did Dodger at least get comparable screen time and character development? For me that's the thing with Marbecca, no matter how many scenes Marlene has with Tristan to me it never feels like they are giving him more than the bare minimum in order to be an obstacle. They give us just enough to show us why Marlene is hiding with him, but never enough for the pair to stand on their own. 95% of their scenes just feel "tainted" to me, like most of their scenes exist either just so they can pan over and show Rebecca's pained face or to show us how distracted Marlene is (like when she initiated sex after the suit fitting where Marlene stormed out and ripped off her scarf).

Not really. Seriously though, I say the fans were pretty blindsided when HO decided to go with Dodger. While the Texas/Jodie/Dodger SL was going on it was mostly ever focused on Texas/Jodie. Texas did have a past with Dodger, yeah, but during the whole 'love triangle' SL there was nothing between them. Like I said the only way HO pulled it off (Texas picking Dodger) was because it was portrayed as a love triangle from the get go. Now, they're still not actually together ('cause of the whole Dodger's brother Will conspiring with Silas SL ) but you can tell it's leading that way.

Hm, I wonder if VL not using the love triangle spin to the SL is either a good/bad thing now. Since they've used in the past with Marlene/Hagen/Kim and the forbidden love won. But now because they haven't used it for Marlene/Rebecca/Tristan will Marlene stay with Tristan.

BTW, because it's called Forbidden Love how often does the 'forbidden love' win, judging from previous storylines? I thought because it was called that it would always win.

They have been a handful of times where the more forbidden love didn't win. But as a rule of thumb they do win And those times where it didn't win there were usually special circumstances like actors leaving. And/or they made sure to find other ways to make the other guy seem dangerous/forbidden too in a way. Or the forbidden person was kinda too evil to be picked (like Tristan not getting Helena even though his love for her was most definitely forbidden. => but then the show ensured it by portraying him as a nutjob to communicate to the viewers that the other guy was still the better option [plus they made sure that the other guy wasn't too bland and nice, so it wouldn't seem like she went with the boring opion]).

But yeah, 9 times out of 10 the forbidden option wins the triangle/quad story (of course they might then still break up in their next story, but they still win their original forbidden love story). And if they don't you can usually still sense it due to other circumstances (like the writers putting extra work in to make them psycho or make the other option interesting).

Well that's good news. Let's just hope Marlene/Rebecca aren't in the minority.

I think Rebecca and Marlene will have a chance to be close again with the wedding dress fitting and designing, all those long and intimate moments working alone preparing Marlene's perfect dress...I can definitely imagine this popping up somewhere in the storyline - rekindled romance once again!

And honestly, even if Tristan (and Marlene) were ok with Rebecca doing the dress, why would Rebecca agree to put herself through that torture? That's why people speculate that Rebecca make the dress in secret and Marlene will choose it without knowing its from Rebecca.

Lola, I thought the same thing when I read the spoiler about the idea to have a wedding dresses submitted without knowing the designer. Hopefully, with more than one person having the thought, it will come true.

lol omg that is so cheesy and delicious all at the same time. after seeing the last episode, I again have renewed faith in this show, I guess? I mean it's going to be a loooooooooooooong wait but I think it will be so worth it if they do get together. stupid long-winded soapy storyline. but ahhh Marlene and that hammer in the last ep? I'm completely sold. she needs to stop fighting those feelings!

Well, we finally hate a fixed number now when we'll know the truth. 4051. So that's 16 more episodes after the latest written spoilers.

So 3-4 weeks in spoilers and then 4051 is supposed to be the big climax.
