photoshoot or not, THAT'S HOT. why can't the writers see the burning chemistry??? sometimes I say just fuck it but then I see pics like this or moments like that shortlived hand-holding in the last ep and I realize ~I CAN'T QUIT YOU MARBECCA~ :herzschlag:

Sounds like a potential good thing to me. Like a callback to when Marlene joined the show and Rebecca sewed her first wedding dress. Keeping fingers crossed that this is the setup for a big showdown. Though I'm kinda worried that it will take at least a month or two for the dress to finally be finished/for us to be able to see the finale/story climax. :ohnmacht:

things are just not looking good huh? I just really want some sort of sign. like a light at the end of the tunnel to prove to us that MarBecca can still happen. but gaaaawd, those recent spoilers just make me very sad. it feels like the end and yet all those little scenes coming from Marlene. I don't get it! all that wasted potential! :?

I don't think it feels like the end yet. If it was the end there would be no more screentime for the story at all or no more mentions of Rebecca. Try to look at it from the other side. If you were a shipper of TriMa wouldn't you HATE the thought that Rebecca might be sewing the dress Marlene gets married in, considering Marlene and Rebecca have wedding dress history and what always happened when Marlene and Rebecca had fittings?

I think it's kinda soap law or at least VL law that it has to always be darkest before the light. And VL kinda has a history of these long drawn out romances (people call them Kaugummi/bubble gum because they draaaaaaaaaaaaaaag).

For example, last year there was a story about a woman who was married with a grown up son who was in love with the twin brother who was also a priest (yes I realize that sounds like a joke, but that's VL for you). The brother came to town for another unrelated reason, they tried to avoid each other forever (=Rebecca trying to hide her feelings for Marlene before the spin the bottle night), then they swore up and down that rather than acting on their feelings they would try to learn to interact as normal brother and sister (= Marbecca going back and forth on insisting that they want to save their friendship), roughly every 3 weeks or so the woman tried to blackmail her brother into leaving the island, she constantly lied to her husband about every tiny little thing pertaining to her brother (first that he was her brother, then how they were separated, then that they used to be in love, then that she loves him, etc), she dreamt of her brother while lying in bed with her husband, she vowed to stay away from him even after her husband had found out the truth and dumped her. And then just as the brother was about to leave the island for good the woman nearly killed herself, her son gave her his blessing, she ran after her brother and they lived happily ever after/are one of the biggest supercouples of VL. I believe it's called a "5 minutes before closing time" ending

Dana and Hagen also had a long phase where she pushed him away over and over again and tried to fight for Marlene instead. Same goes for many other couples.

Again I'm not saying it's impossible, like that the ending of Marbecca will be Rebecca sewing Marlene's wedding dress and both of them finding peace through that/laying their relationship to rest through that (after all there was a head writer change in the middle of Marbecca and new writers might always have different goals). But I also think that the current Marbecca happenings still don't really violate the VL typical couple structure (even if that structure is really frustrating and annoying).

Thanks Lola for the clip and I agree. Right now, Rebecca and Marlene get all the potential SuperCouple anvils which should pay off somewhere down the road.

Jan and Julia: I kind of love how he says "We are not brother and sister, we are husband and wife." - those two in a nutshell.

or "man and woman". Sneaky german language. ;)

Of course, once again, there is no insurance. New authors might have different goals or might suffer under the illusion that they are being clever

But yeah, they remind me a lot of Dana/Hagen as well where there was also a long period of time where Hagen was ready but Dana was determined to never be with him, even after Marlene had kicked her in the curb. And ultimately what brought them together, even after Dana had yet again rejected Hagen's most desperate plea (to take the plunge off the diving board with him [maybe we could get something like that too, Rebecca whisking Marlene away on her motorcycle and Marlene still saying no at that point]) was the thing that connected them (in Dagen's case winning the Lahnstein derby, in Marbecca's case hopefully the dress).

Jan and Julia had that too, with Jan making his most desperate plea (the man and woman one) in front of their parents and she still said no then. Jan kinda had a similar line of argumentation too as Rebecca, with the whole "you're strong/be brave" as well.

I'm kinda digging that we are starting more and more to compare Marbecca to how the straight stories usually run and less to how the other lesbian stories ran (blabla, Carla and Hanna did that, with Carla and Stella it was like this, but in the case of Nina and Erika etc...).

there are TriMar shippers? lol jk, ofc there are! altho I really feel nothing regarding their relationship. maybe cos I just find Tristan bland. :/ I just wish having invested in this storyline that I do get something in the end. the push and pull may be a good sign and if they keep pulling on it then there is hope? RIGHT?

but wow I didn't know VL really went through with an incestuous relationship. I keep reading people complain how the show doesn't really try to push the limit anymore. altho I'm not big on incest (it honestly grosses me out) I'm interested to see how it all played out. I had no idea they came back last year either. I pretty much stopped watching VL after MiriBecca and Starla so.

Re: Spoiler Comments / Discussion

Well, if they were planning on having Marlene choose Tristan over Rebecca one would assume that they (the writers) assume there must be TriMa shippers that they'd make happy with that, or they would have to write it in a way that appeals to potential shippers/would draw in new people.

=> after all Marlene and Rebecca are "permanent cast members". And based on when they joined the show and on how contracts work on VL both of them will stick around for at least another year. Why would you hook TriMa up in an unhappy/fan unsatisfying/not romantically written relationship if you know that the characters are sticking around.

It had its fans (and the show skirted around the issue a bit by having them get together and then leave the show right afterwards, so even though the show made it clear that yes, they do want each other "that way" you never had to see the day to day going ons of their reationship, you just know that it takes place somewhere in off screen land). If you search for Jan and Julia there are some fan videos. And I actually think that Mittag's channel acctually covers most of the storyline if you look at the Mallorca videos. The show laid it on really thick with the whole psychic twin connection where they can sense when the other one is hurt or having problems.

Re: Spoiler Comments / Discussion

Nope it's written. It's still pretty sweet though, especially Melanie, she talks about how she was looking forward to the story and in the end where they ask them what kind of reactions they have gotten she says that most fans want Marbecca because they can sense that Marbecca belong together. => which I think is a really shippy way to put it because it implies that that is the truth/reality (if she had said that they think or believe that Marbecca belong together that's just the opinion of the fans, but no, they sense the truth ;) => my interpretation).

Tatjana is a lot more laid back because as she tells she always knew she was casted for this/she knew it even back from her auditions.
